UT Supercache

Post by Oldsparky »

Remember to set your cache dump in the ini to 0 days just like unreal.
UnrealTournament has an often unknown cache limit below 500MB.
This is why redirected cache downloads are so important.
Your game is redirected to an alternate download site on our map page.
Your game downloads the files necessary to play the game in a zipped format.
These downloads are very fast and requires continuos updating by the server operator.
These files must be prepared by us (meaning TKR) in a UZ format and uploaded to the http
download site. TKR is adding new additional map packs for COOP, ones most of us have never seen.

Well personally I have never heard of this limit. However unlike Unreal, Unreal Tournament does keeps a record of all files downloaded in "cache\cache.ini" and there are many "Cache Cleaner" applications available that use this information to rename all cache files and place them in the correct directories, so this really shouldn't be a problem for most.

Oh and yeah, he really does mean me!
