Watched the BBC version a couple months ago and last night the History channel had a documentary on it. Wild wild stuff and very interesting. I can't wait for the results to see if they can finally identify the Higgs Boson (GOD) particle [or Darkmatter/energy] that makes energy into all the different forms of matter, and explains how the Universe exploded into existance from a singularity.

Fermi Lab (named after Enrico Fermi who was the first to successfully fission Uranium) has been working on this for 40 years, but they are limited by the outdated technology.

They say that when the two Protons slam together at nearly the speed of light, the amount of energy released will be comparable to an Aircraft Carrier slamming into a solid object at full speed

I also heard about a black hole that could evolve from this collission.....errhm...we're still here !

theyve only tested a single stream of protons in either direction, to make sure the holes the protons go through go all the way round and arnt blocked by mice etc.

the colision comes in a week or so i beleive.

oh I found some darkmatter last night, ...yuck ...

The 'machine' is broke again.
They hope to start it up again in two months.
