Place Theories Part III

Post by EpsilonXangent-(DOG)- » Wed Oct 04, 2017 8:40 pm

Member Epsilon Here!

Been a long time since I made a theory, but I have taken my time into thinking of a new theory, Creature Theories will be upcoming in the future.

Let's do it...

Dasa Mountain Ranges:
----------------------------
The Dasa Mountain Ranges have existed since the Erosion of the Sunspire, the Richter Scale went to a whopping 12, and the cause for it to go to the 12th scale is because of the Skaarj Mothership (Coded as Khre'jasker XII), it landed very heavily because of its process in going inside the Core of Gryphon 4-a. And ahead of the Mountains lies the Dasa Fortress Pass, which is the sacred pass made by the Nali, invaded by the Skaarj. As their servants, Brutes and Kralls, have guarded this place before the presence of Prisoner 849. ISV-Kran Members were also there and were using the Fortress' entrance as a supplies containment to save their Supplies for later. The Nali built the Fortress as a symbol for their strong love of their Underworld God Dasa.

The Jama'ras Castle:
-------------------------
The well known Jama'ras Castle, or classified as the Nali Castle, is one of the most sacred Castles ever built by the builders of Lord Jama'ras. Once planned to be built as a Monastery, Jama'ras thought it would be a bad idea to use a Castle as a religious service place. Although the Castle is one of the most advanced Castles ever built on Na Pali, because it includes a Church, a Library, and more.
The Skaarj - after their arrival - have invaded the Castle and made it as a Fortress for their colony.

Outpost 3J:
--------------
Outpost 3J is the most visited Outpost of the Skaarj Checkpoints. The Skaarj use that for keeping supplies and repairing Skaarj Skimmers if necessarily needed.
It was also used as a Navigation Map for figuring out where are other units that want to conquer the Skaarj.
Outpost 3J was also known for being the first place to have a strong communication signal for communicating with other Clans of the Skaarj.

That should be most of the places I have theorized from and I hope you enjoyed them, a new theory to begin production in, War Theories, will be up next time. It will include:
- The Date of Wars
- Which Factions participated in the Wars
- Who won throughout the Wars
- Plans versus Actual actions taken
and more to arrive, even a map of the Wars this time!

Best Regards. :)

If you'll be good with the editor you could integrate your theories into an addon of yours for example.

I don't know if there will ever be time that someone created an expansion pack based on the ideas document that came with all the material recovered alongside emissary. Which envolved plans for some interesting setting for the expansion pack, having some rpg like elements (only nali chronicles ever tried something like that) and the story involved a civil war on na pali after the death of the skaarj queen and the skaarj factions starting to split up.

It had areas like swamps and deserts and more and a mysterious dark "technology castle" as a kind of central location/final level, though the boss/final level could vary depending on your choices. In fact in the expansion the big selling point would be that not only you'd get to choose your player like in final unreal, you could choose the faction, you could even play as a mercenary since the beginning and the story would change if that would be your choice. Or as Skaarj.

It would be interesting if this expansion pack went past the early planning stages or perhaps early levels...

So far out of all the ideas there could be none less than two other "unofficial" expansion packs beside return to na pali. But based on these things and perhaps you could put forth your ideas in there if you ever get a team to work on it.

My Unreal PSX rework is big enough, after all it was a whole new game, more than an expansion pack, planned on the playstation primarily.

So it would take some time for me to consider working on anything like that myself. But..if the community was just a little bigger and open, if we had a community like the Doom one, you can bet that people would be already making this stuff.

Instead I see tons of cancelled and unfinished projects all around and nobody puts together efforts for something like that.

Delacroix & co. "Unreal Episodes" kinda come close, but that features like entire alternate reality and its scope is kinda falling, even with core team members leaving the whole thing. But honestly, it is a mishmash/retcon of a lot of things. It's not something pure based on the documents of Unreal.

The Novels were even speculated to be put into a level pack of their own, I believe Master Unreal still wanted to work on that when he still was around.

It's just a shame none of this seems realized at all.

But all I'm saying is that you could put all these theories into use later if you'll be working with the Unreal Editor and more.

Good point, Leo!

I'll see about that later, and that is: If I'm an expert at Unreal Editor.

Best Regards.

Sorry for another post but it just makes me wonder:
Was Xan, the boss of Botpack, ever conceived as a Mercenary? It could be possible.

Especially in the early days when Botpack was still an Unreal addon pack and the only new weapons it had was a new translocator, the redeemer, chainsaw, impact hammer, double automag and later pulsegun. Besides that there were no replacements/swaps for the regular weapons at all. Unreal was originally required for it even.

And the fact that "Liandri" was not mentioned in the 1998 days of botpack.

Given that Xan has some mercenary sounds perhaps he really was meant to be tied to them originally.

And yea you might as well become good with it in the future and make your own pack. There's plenty of resources these days and I'll be happy to help too.

Ah there's no need to apologize for an excessive usage of posts, as long as you're asking things or saying things, I have no problem with that.

Hmm... Good point, Leo! I'm pretty sure that Xan didn't have any relations to the Mercenaries, but if you're talking about his voices AND his noises he makes (Hurt, Footsteps, Ground Landing, etc...), then perhaps it was an accidental coincidence that Epic didn't really find out about.

For my theories of Unreal Tournament: It may have been known that Xan's mechanics and parts may have relations to the Mercenaries' mechanics and parts. It was rumored that a destroyed Mercenary Ship, Iota-504, had many captured Mercenaries, and of course the rest of the crew members were dead or missing in action.
Liandri Mining Corporation, while its miners were mining through Na Pali's Caverns and Caves, found a Gigantic Body of Iota-504 lying through the darkest of the Caverns.

They have taken this Material from the Mercenaries' armors from the armory, and enhanced it to build Xan.
It was then issued to Jerl Hendrik Liandri for test purposes.

That is my hope of the year and 2018, that I may soon start to learn how to use the basics of Unreal Editor so that later I can make any scenarios, and even make my own map pack called "The ISV-Cyclops Incident."
I'll post about this map pack later.

Best Regards. :)

Well we can't be sure what the original plan was. There was some surprising stuff regarding Unreal's own developement and really, Liandri etc weren't mentioned at all until 1999. That's what makes me think that Xan could have originally been a Mercenary player/experiment.

Either way, I'd be happy to try your pack once its out.

Ah! After I learn the basics and advances of Unreal Editor, it will take a long time for me to make a pack filled with all of my theories, that is I could make versions with bug fixes and new features after each theory. Even make maps after making War Theories.

Best Regards. :)

VooDoo-(DOG)- here!

Ok, I have collated all the Places Theories into the HTML. The only thing I haven't done yet is provide an image for Xanith-8 and Xalarox-2.

Epsilon-X-(DOG)- wrote:

For Xanith-8 it's a 75% Darker toned Kraneros X, and Xalarox-2 is the Red Moon again darker toned by 75%, but if it isn't possible to edit the planets and their moons' colors, then we can leave Xanith-8 and Xalarox-2 without any pictures, as if it's an unknown planet.

When you say Xanith-8 is "75% Darker toned Kraneros X", I am not quite picturing what you mean. If I edit the Kraneros X planet part of the image and make it 75% darker, it's basically not going to look like much and will almost disappear! :P

Ok, the image I am using for Kraneros-X is below. Ignore the black space on the left and bottom of the image, that's just to ensure there is distance between the text to the left of the image and any text that might appear below the image.

kraneros_x.png

My inclination at the moment is to omit images for Xanith-8 and Xalarox-2 (as per your suggestion) and to add those later.
I am not sure what image-editing programs you have, but if you only have a built-in Windows app/program then I recommend either of the following :

GIMP (GNU IMAGE MANIPULATION PROGRAM)

or

Irfanview

GIMP is a much larger and more versatile program than IrfanView, but IrfanView is a very small download and surprisingly, offers a reasonable amount of options for such a small download.

Maybe you could experiment a little with either of these programs and provide me with images for Xanith-8 and Xalarox-2 at a later date. :)

WOOF!

PS. I have some questions about the new information you provided about Nali and Skaarj, but will post that in the last Creatures thread.

Member Epsilon-X Antecedent Tangent 083 Replies!

I'm actually abandoning the idea of using a picture for Xanith-8 and Xalarox-2, But I'm actually thinking that we could use a GIF Image of a TV Static to give out the mysterious feeling.

Best Regards. :)

Great idea! I really like that ingenuity. :Drogar-BigGrin:

So maybe something like the following...

tvstatic1.gif

tvstatic2.jpg

tvstatic3.jpg

tvstatic4.jpg

tvstatic5.jpg

If you like any of the above, then maybe choose one of the above to be used for Xanith-8 and another for Xalarox-2.
I could give the one you pick for Xalarox-2 a reddish hue. So for example, if you liked image 5 for Xalarox-2 then it would become this :-

tvstatic5_reddened.png

Ok maybe I made the example a bit too red but......
Let me know if you like that idea.

Over and out Captain!

Hmm... That's a good one! We can add in TV Static # 3 for Xanith-8 and for Xalarox-2 We can use TV Static # 4 with a reddish hue!

I really do like it! :Drogar-BigGrin: And by the way, no need to call me a captain. For I am Antecedent Tangent, a regular Antecedent Warrior who fights for humanity and against Skaarj! (Call me Member Seif or Member Epsilon, or... as you wish, if you want it a captain then I'm fine with it).
