What happened to the DOGFORUM's style??

...well, just in case somebody should be wondering: yes, the DOGFORUM looks different now, but this should be temporarily only.
the DOGFORUM is based on the "phpBB"-script which provided a major update from version 3.0.12 to 3.1.2
i updated the forum today - unfortunately there are only very few custom styles/templates available yet that would work with the current release. so either i'll wait for the update of the template we used before or some other fitting template. third option, i will try to adapt the stylesheets of phpBB's standard style "ProSilver"... but since i got a tough working-plan i will have to put that aside for now.

at least the forum is fully functional and i hope everybody will be able to find everything he/she needs ;)

WOOF!

meanwhile i spent some time to clean up the backoffice-part of the forum - adapted groups, permissions, ranks and stuff like that.
apart from the "makeup", users of the group -(DOG)- are now allowed to initiate polls... i have seen in older forum posts that this has been asked for in the past.

the recently used forum-style based on an older version of the forum-script and gave some issues (e.g. author's in quotes had not been stated anymore). i decided to switch to a theme that is adapted on the current script-version. this has not been done by myself, but it comes pretty close to what we had.

I really like the new styling, it seems "sleeker" somehow and more modern and defined. It is also great to have peoples' quoted text working properly again! All the various green shades in the "headings" area looks better as well, as do the various touches of orange, notably icons and hovered over links. I didn't think it was possible to get too excited over a bit of orange here and there, but apparently it is! Very happy! :Drogar-BigGrin:

Is the link to the Chat Center only to be found under Quick Links now?

WOOF!

right above the chat-area, the heading "Chat Center" is a link as well ;)
i am glad you like it. of course i have to admit, that we'll need some time to get used to the new style ;)

WOOF!

I just wondered if I am missing some text links on my screen, as indicated by the image below.

Clipboard01.jpg

I see text links briefly where the 2 arrows are pointed, then they disappear. I am just wondering if one of my Firefox addons is maybe preventing some script(s) from happening. Can someone else please confirm that my screen shows the same as theirs?

Thanks in advance anyone. :P

if you refresh the browser you can see for a very short time the textlinks "notifications" and "private messages" including the 2 symbols - then they change immediately to the symbols only as shown on your screenshot. so there is nothing missing and i guess this is a css-related "issue" on parameters like width/align in relation to the settings changed.

Ah thanks Patrick. The words flash past so quick I cannot read them all in time, so I wasn't sure if I was missing some links. :)
I also run NOSCRIPT for Firefox and although Newbiesplayground is whitelisted, I thought maybe it was still somehow interfering.
Good to know I'm not missing anything. I prefer it with the 2 textless icons anyway; minimalism!

WOOF!
