The nationalities of our game!

About 2 years ago, I started a players by nationality thread on Oldunreal. It seemed a reasonable idea to resurrect the thread here on Newbies. I was helped immensely by strategy-(DOG)- in this mission; hehe his INI files were a lot longer than mine! It seemed a pity to lose this information and hopefully additions can be made to it. A total of 71 countries were discovered (now 72), which is pretty amazing I think for such a niche/old game.

This time, it will be an ordered list with a list of any players that come from that country. Only players that have put their home country in profiles or have verbally said where they come from will make the list. It would be great to get the name of a player for each country, but this may not be possible, because of the need to show courtesy to players who don't wish to state their country. Ideally, it will be mainly active players, but of course OldSparky-(DOG)- was officially the first entry. WOOF!

If your name is on the list and you do not wish to be on the list, send me a message! This will obviously be a permanent WIP, so it will be stickied.

Well I stated that if the players country of origin wasn't listed in a profile anywhere, then even if I knew where that player was from, I would wait for confirmation of them being happy to be included on the list. For example, Smirftsch is not on the list yet, because his profile on OU does not mention it and I have not seen him to ask him if it's ok to add it here. Yes I do know where Smirftsch and you are from!

Haha, there is nothing wrong with your nickname! I have seen you in-game with "toj" in front of "Missionary" and some ASCII symbols, so I wondered if I needed to change it on the list. It was just a reminder to myself that I might not be using your preferred name.

I remember Marathon Rubicon, I didn't realize it was you.

I didn't have a stable connection back then, was only on a dialup and could play unreal just in the weekends in practice.

Either way, happy easter.

What I don't like is that based on a new law, all bigger stores have to close in state holidays, before it was up to the owner. Then they say on radio that people are buying more on easter than else. Well, they have to shop more so they have in store more for days they can't go to the store, in the first place.

In smaller towns and rural areas it's of course even more difficult because in the cities you can still get to small stores that are open, but elsewhere they will close early and monday everything is closed (as in the easter monday in this case).

In cities like Praha there's a small store on almost every corner. With introduction of EET phase 2 and other regulations many stores had to close in practice though so while I saw the economy getting better and more open, something comes to shut it again. Of course the EU isn't really helping. *shrugs*

I know some of it might sound strange to you, but I'm saying how things have became and yes it was different from the "west". In czech stores were usually open longer and even during sundays, at least that's how it became after 1989. It's of course up to the individual and the area but when it comes to supermarkets they were usually open all days. Hence people got used to it. I know that when I lived in the netherlands, things were very different for me. Sunday usually meant closed all the time, and general stores were even closed on monday which is something I didn't grasp at all. Alcohol was sold separately (not that I needed it but it makes you feel even more "watched"), at least anything with more than little percent of it. At one time I even remember absynthe being sold in just a regular store in czech, lol.

Ah I wish I could do that simple request! The list needs to be easy to search and visually-unbiased though, so I have to keep it simple.

For example I listed the -(DOG)-s first, because I had that information immediately at hand, but then somone might have "complained" about them being listed first. So the list will be kept strictly ordered.

Does anyone have contact details for [E]-Klesk? I had 2 bookmarks for the Sigma clan's website, but both are now defunct.
There are quite a few people from the [E} clan missing from the list, Lucaso, Black, Tommy etc., but I do not know where some of them are from, so I really need Klesk's help. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
